Are EMDR Intensives Right for You?
By Sarah Hagen, LCSW
An intensive is a real investment of money, time, and courage. So let’s be honest about who they fit — because the right container matters more than the fanciest one.
An intensive may be a great fit if…
- You want real movement on trauma, not another year of maintenance
- Weekly therapy is one more thing you can’t reliably sustain
- You’re a high-achieving woman quietly breaking under invisible pressure
- You’re ready to do focused, deep work in a concentrated container
You might start with weekly therapy if…
If you’re in active crisis, need ongoing stabilization, or want to build the relationship slowly first, weekly sessions can be the better on-ramp. Sometimes we do a few weekly sessions and then move into an intensive when you’re ready.
How to decide
You don’t have to figure this out alone. Book a free consult and we’ll talk through your goals, your history, and your calendar, and pick the path that actually fits your life. You are the expert on your life — I’m just here to help you hear yourself.
